Things from me (and someone else) to THINK about
“Gratefulness is the gateway to GREAT-fullness.”
“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues but the parent of all others.” // Cicero
A story to BE moved by
There once was a wise man who traveled from village to village, sharing his wisdom and kindness with others. One day, he came across a young man who seemed to be perpetually unhappy, always complaining about his life and circumstances.
The wise teacher approached the young man and asked him, “What would make you truly happy?”
The young man thought for a moment and said, “If I had a bigger house, more money, and a more successful job, I would be truly happy.”
The wise teacher smiled and handed the young man a small, beautifully crafted box. “I want you to fill this box with something you are grateful for each day for the next 30 days,” he instructed.
The young man reluctantly agreed, and each day he carefully placed a note in the box, describing something he was grateful for. As the days went by, his focus shifted from his discontent to the many blessings in his life. His outlook began to change, and he found happiness in the simplest of things.
On the 30th day, the wise teacher returned and asked the young man, “How do you feel now?”
With a smile, the young man replied, “I’ve realized that true happiness comes from appreciating what I already have, not from chasing after what I don’t.”
Something to DO right now
Gratitude is a powerful force that can transform your perspective and open your eyes to the beauty and abundance that surrounds you.
Today, make a conscious effort to practice gratitude. Write down three things you are grateful for and share them with someone close to you. As you continue to cultivate gratitude in your life, you will unlock your own greatness and inspire others to do the same.
Take a 30 day gratitude challenge just like this story. Write down one thing everyday that you are grateful for. After 30 days, see if anything changes for you. You will always notice how great your life is when you are grateful.
