Happy Easter! As we celebrate the greatest day in history, here’s a leadership lesson from the life of Jesus
Things from me (and someone else) to THINK about
“The best way to influence others is to live to serve others.”
“The only way you can serve God is by serving other people.” // Rick Warren
A story to BE moved by
In the days leading up to his crucifixion, Jesus Christ shared a final meal with his disciples. Knowing the events that were to unfold, he chose to teach them one last lesson in leadership.
Jesus rose from the table, wrapped a towel around his waist, and filled a basin with water. He then knelt before each disciple, washing their feet as a servant would. The disciples were taken aback by this act, as it was unheard of for a leader to perform such a menial task. Feet-washing was usually reserved for the lowest servant in a household.
When Jesus had finished washing their feet, he said to them, “You call me Teacher and Lord, and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” (John 13:13-15)
Through this humble act of service, Jesus demonstrated that true leadership is grounded serving and putting the needs of others before your own.
Something to DO right now
