Success begins on Sunday!
Here’s a leadershipology to help you start the week right on Sunday night. Here’s some things to THINK about, a story to BE moved by, and something you can DO right now.
Things from me (and someone else) to THINK about
“All pain comes from a story that is selfishly viewed.”
“Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is never the result of selfishness.” – Napoleon Hill
A story to BE moved by
In a small village, there was a prosperous and influential merchant who took pride in his wealth and status. He believed that his fortune was solely due to his own hard work and cunning, and he had little regard for the needs or feelings of others.
One day, a wise traveler arrived in the village and shared tales of a legendary treasure hidden in the nearby mountains. The villagers, excited by the prospect of finding this treasure, set out on a journey to locate it. The selfish merchant, not wanting to share the treasure with the villagers, decided to venture out on his own, determined to claim the treasure for himself.
After days of searching, the merchant finally found the treasure, but as he approached it, he discovered that it was protected by an invisible barrier. No matter how hard he tried, he could not reach the treasure.
Meanwhile, the villagers, working together and helping each other along the journey, also arrived at the treasure’s location. To their surprise, they found that they could easily pass through the barrier and claim the treasure. The villagers shared the treasure amongst themselves, and their unity and selflessness brought prosperity to the entire village.
The selfish merchant, realizing the error of his ways, learned the importance of selflessness and the power of collaboration. From that day forward, he vowed to be more generous and considerate of others, ultimately becoming a respected and beloved member of his community.
Something to DO right now
Reflect on your own actions and attitudes as a leader. Are there any areas where you may be acting selfishly or prioritizing your own interests over the needs of your team, family, or community?
Identify one specific action you can take this week to demonstrate selflessness and a commitment to the well-being of others. By embracing selflessness, you will help other people win, and they will help you win too!
